I’m trying to think of something humorous to lighten the strangest of times, when we can’t personally get together and be thankful. Sorry, I’m not great at jokes nor a comedian.
What I can do is invite you to day dream. Imagine that the little girl or boy inside you would love to peer out of your window and notice the glorious fall colors. She or he may even squeal with joy as you see the colorful leaves dancing in the breeze.
And if the trees have shed all of their leaves in your part of the world, then close your eyes. Now you can enter the imaginary realm and see the tree branches proudly showing orange, yellow and red shapes blowing in the wind.
Being grateful is the essence of thanksgiving.
Even though your table may be large and your guest list very small. You can send lots of gratitude and love to those who you’re keeping safe. I’m thinking of so many grandparents and parents who’ll be on their own.
While you’re at it, send some love out to all of our first responders and people who go to work daily risking their lives for us. In your community, in our country and broaden your sphere to include our in the world.
Then, place your hands on your heart. Give yourself some gratitude and love too, and know that the strangest of times will pass.
As a colleague said, “we’ll have a bang out thanksgiving next year.”
Hey, look on the bright side. At least there won’t be so many family arguments over turkey and stuffing this year.
I thank you so much, whether you’re a client, colleague, friend, one of the many business owners and professionals who I have met over the years, or someone I have not yet had the pleasure to meet.
Blessings and wishing you a gentle thanksgiving with those you love. And to many of you who don’t celebrate Thanksgiving as one of your traditions, I’m thankful for you as well.
Enjoy,
Alyse
